Please don’t be afraid to come in. Please don’t be afraid to undress. To run across the lawn. To reach the lake. Please don’t be afraid to dive in. Please don’t be afraid to greet the creatures waiting for you where they can’t be seen.

Selima Hill has received a Cholmondeley Award, first prize in the Arvon International Poetry Competition, a Whitbread Poetry Award and the King’s Gold Medal, as well as being shortlisted for the Forward Prize, Costa Poetry Award and TS Eliot Awards. Selima grew up in a family of painters in farms in England and Wales and has lived in Dorset for the past 40 years.
